The China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum (2022) kicked off on Mar 25. 

At the a sub-form held on the same day, Kong Lei, deputy director of the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area Administrative Committee, delivered a speech, pointing out that the BDA will promote the high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone in Beijing according to the third-phase construction plan. 

Within the 60-square-km BDA, infrastructure now covers 332 digital intelligent intersections. 

A city-level engineering test platform for high-level autonomous vehicles has been built.

An autonomous commercial driving service pilot area has been opened in the demonstration area. Unmanned vehicles are able to deliver food and parcels, and their scope is gradually expanding.

Unmanned retail, self-driving police patrols, and park rovers are now part of daily life in the BDA. Intelligent networked vehicles are integrating with smart city technology.

Based on the development and changes of the automobile industry, combined with the construction of dual-smart cities, government management should focus on three aspects: infrastructure, technical standards, and the construction of safety rules and rule systems to regulate and promote the development of the industry, Kong said.
