The information technology track of HICOOL 2022 Global Entrepreneurship Competition, hosted by Beijing Overseas Talents Association, opened on July 21.

This is also the first time that Beijing E-Town is organizing a HICOOL competition.

The preliminary competition lasted for three days, with more than 300 new-generation information technology innovation projects competing for the semi-finals. The contest is conducted through offline and online roadshows and by answering questions from judges. 

"As a gathering place for the new generation of information technology industries in Beijing, Beijing E-Town will not only bring new development opportunities to related industries in the area, but also provide more direct services for the subsequent application of high-quality projects in the track," said a manager of the competition.

The new generation of information technology industry is one of the four leading industries in Beijing E-Town. In 2021, the industry’s output value in the area exceeds 100 billion yuan ($14.82 billion), ranking first in Beijing. 

Currently, a number of characteristic industrial clusters have been formed, led by companies such as BOE, SMIC, NAURA and Chipone, which have become the backbone of Beijing's industrial economy and high-tech industries.
