Two themed 'Beijing quasi-museums' open in E-Town

Updated: 2024-12-26

Two themed "Beijing quasi-museums" – Sino-Science Aquilaria Culture Museum and the German Herbal Tea Museum – were unveiled in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Dec 24.

Sino-Science Aquilaria Culture Museum was jointly established by Beijing Sino-Science Aquilaria Co and Sun Liang, an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of aquilaria plants in Beijing.

The museum features different functional exhibition halls such as the aquilaria culture exhibition area, aquilaria innovation research and development laboratory, and aquilaria cultural exchange center. By showcasing wild aquilaria, incense utensils, artificially cultivated aquilaria trees, and other rich collections, the museum vividly narrates the aroma and characteristics, production and artistic expressions, cultural significance, and commercial value of aquilaria to visitors. It aims to create an aquilaria culture museum that integrates cultural preservation and inheritance, educational promotion, and innovative development.

The German Herbal Tea Museum is China's first life experience museum showcasing the theme of German herbal tea.

Currently, the museum houses a rich collection of exhibits showcasing a century-old German tea industry, a visual tea factory, and the inaugural Chinese exhibition of "Ancient and Modern Germany - World Cultural Heritage Images" officially launched by the German National Tourist Office.

Beijing E-Town plans to introduce more policies to support venue construction, renovation, event organization, and daily operations of the museums, with the aim of enhancing the public's cultural knowledge, aesthetic abilities, and technological literacy.
