WeRide gains international recognition in information security management

Updated: 2025-01-08

WeRide, a company based in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) recently received ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System certification, issued by CEPREI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Fifth Electronics Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

This signifies that WeRide's systematic construction in the field of information security management has met international authoritative standards, providing essential safeguards for global development and cross-industry cooperation.

The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is an essential component of TISAX certification, which, as a globally recognized standard for information security assessment and certification in the automotive industry, is an indispensable prerequisite for international OEMs and their related supply chains. Therefore, as the most widely applicable information security management standard internationally recognized today, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification demands that companies meet high standards of systematization and standardization in areas such as protecting information assets, risk prevention and control, as well as security process management.

"Obtaining the certification is another important milestone for WeRide on its journey towards digital compliance and internationalization. We are committed to leveraging secure and reliable technology to advance the commercialization of autonomous driving on a global scale," said Yang Qingxiong, WeRide's vice-president.

WeRide now is promoting the establishment of a global R&D center in Beijing E-Town, implementing a dual headquarters strategy. WeRide intends in the future to continue to optimize its technological capabilities and management systems to provide comprehensive security safeguards for the global-scale commercialization of autonomous driving technology.
