To achieve regional economic development while ensuring green ecology, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) has witnessed a "green revolution" over the years.

In 2024, the cumulative concentration of PM2.5 in Beijing E-Town was 32.6 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 13.8 percent, the best reduction rate in the city. Behind this excellent performance is E-Town's targeted control of air pollution through technology empowerment and policy support.

The unmanned atmospheric environment monitoring vehicle equipped with LiDAR and AI algorithms serves the dual role of "safety guardian" and "atmospheric pollution scout" in E-Town. The vehicle can capture pollution sources such as road dust and volatile organic compounds in real time and record and alert through the "urban operation brain" platform. This three-dimensional supervision model of "fixed monitoring + mobile patrol" enables dust control to shift from "human-intensive tactics" to "smart control".

Apart from that, in 2024, Beijing E-Town demonstrated the construction of two zero-emission fleets, and the proportion of new energy buses used by enterprises in the area increased to 82 percent.

Beijing E-Town has applied policy guidance and financial support to continuously stimulate local enterprises for green transformation. The Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area Incentive Measures for Promoting Green, Low-Carbon, and High-Quality Development outlines 27 support directions in the areas of pollution prevention and control, energy conservation, carbon reduction and green buildings, comprehensively promoting the process of enterprises' green development.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s list of green manufacturing enterprises for 2024, the number of national-level green manufacturing enterprises in the Beijing E-Town has increased to 48, the highest number of any part of the city. Green factories in various fields, from integrated circuits and semiconductors to pharmaceuticals, healthcare and automotive components, have emerged in the region, leading to a continuous rise in the green index.

From the upgrade of smart energy systems to the cluster breakthrough in the hydrogen energy industry; from the construction of "zero-carbon zones" to the innovative practices of "sponge cities", Beijing E-Town has been providing "E-Town solutions" for the harmonious coexistence of city and nature, making green the vibrant backdrop for the area’s high-quality development.
