The Beijing AI Industry Ecological Innovation Launch Event was held at the Tongming Lake Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on April 27. Representatives from State-owned enterprises, universities and research institutions, industry associations, as well as more than 500 ecological enterprises in the upstream and downstream of the AI industry from Beijing and beyond attended the event.

AI policies launched

At the event, a series of policy measures supporting the development of the AI industry in Beijing were announced, injecting strong momentum into the industry's development.

Beijing E-Town has released the Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Construction of a Comprehensive AI City (2025), which lays out five major aspects including basic capacity support, core industry clusters, data aggregation and circulation, comprehensive scenario applications, and ecosystem empowerment, along with thirty specific action plans. A total of 100 AI scenarios will be opened, providing 10,000 high-quality positions. By the end of 2025, Beijing E-Town aims to establish a leading national AI industry ecosystem cluster with over 600 core enterprises and an industry scale exceeding 80 billion yuan ($10.96 billion).

AI ecosystem co-building

Beijing E-Town officially launched the city's first "Industrial AI Empowerment Center". Leveraging the foundational capabilities of Beijing's AI data training base, the center focuses on the core processes of implementing industry models, providing a one-stop "data modeling and application" service. Aiming to address pain points such as high technological barriers, talent shortages, and cost pressures faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in their intelligent transformation, the center has established four major service platforms, i.e. computing power plaza, data mall, model supermarket, and tuning factory.

Furthermore, to tackle key challenges such as the shortage of talent with expertise in compound AI and insufficient depth in industry applications, the Beijing Industrial AI Academy has been officially established.

AI open source sets sail

The largest domestic research and development efficiency platform and the largest open-source code hosting platform, Gitee, officially landed in Beijing E-Town at the event. Dedicated to building an independent and controllable, domestically leading open-source large model research and application service platform, it has launched over 15,000 open-source models and 10,000 open-source datasets. As a neutral and open third-party platform, it provides developers worldwide with heterogeneous computing power, model hosting, application development, and other full life cycle services.

AI industry gathering

Focusing on the construction of the leading area for national AI innovation application and for the Beijing basic data system, with "large models" and "data elements" as the core driving forces, Beijing E-Town has innovatively created a new quality industrial community for artificial intelligence. At the conference, the first batch of 26 enterprises officially settled in the industrial community.

Meanwhile, the event has specially set up an exhibition of innovative achievements, showcasing the practical results of Beijing E-Town in AI infrastructure construction and industrial application implementation.
